These October food events in Miami will make you give up on your diet

Miami Spice is done-zo, so if you are still looking for fun ways to keep your dining spicy, here are some events that will get you out of your culinary comfort zone.

1. SEED Plant-Based Restaurant Week

Presented by Whole Foods Market, SEED Plant-Based Restaurant Week will showcase plant-based dishes by more than 25 participating restaurants from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.

Three-course prix-fixe meals are $18 for lunch and $26 for dinner at fast-casual concepts, and $22 for lunch and $36 for dinner at fine dining restaurants.

2. Spring Chicken Collaboration with Chef Hedy Goldsmith

Chef Hedy Goldsmith and Chef Jamie DeRosa have joined forces to revamp the all-day and brunch menus at Spring Chicken’s Coral Gables location. To celebrate the launch of the new menus rolling out October 7, Chef Hedy will host a series of Sweet Roll Sunday meet and greets every weekend in October to showcase the new offerings and Spring Chicken’s new local pastry partners, Zak The Baker, Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop, and Buttercream Cupcakes.

3. Macchialina x Frattoria dei Barbi Winery

Miami Beach’s beloved Italian eatery is teaming up with renown Italian winery Frattoria dei Barbi to present a four-course pairing dinner. Notable pours will include reserve vintages of the winery’s acclaimed brunellos. If you fall in love with one of the sips, you’ll be able to pre-order a bottle the night of the dinner.

4. St. Roch's "Taste of the Market"

St. Roch Market, a New Orleans import, acts as a food hall and test kitchen for local chefs before they open stand-alone restaurants.

Newly launched dining collective, The OG Supper Club, has chosen St. Roch Market to host the first installment in a new event series for foodies.

Guests will embark on a culinary trip across global flavors in “A Taste of the Market,” tasting signature dishes vendors such as Coop, Dal Plin, Hot Lime, Itamae, Jaffa, Sabal Coffee, The Mayhaw and more.

DJ Derek Walin of Dream Machine will provide the beats, and Miami Cocktail Company will provide organic craft cocktails. Guests can also look forward to giveaways and other surprises.

5. Chef Collective Dinner at Pao with KYU Co-Founder Michael Lewis

For the next installment of Faena Miami Beach’s Chef Collective Series, Pao’s Executive Chef Paul Qui will welcome KYU Co-Founder and Executive Chef Michael Lewis. The duo will present a series of Asian-inspired dishes blending signature elements of both restaurants, along with a few sneak previews of upcoming new additions to KYU and Pao’s menus.

6. Eatwith MasterChef Series presents Chef Ashley Mincey

If you’re a fan of “Masterchef,” make sure you snag tickets to Eatwith’s next Masterchef series event presenting Season 9 runner-up Ashley Mincey. Guests will enjoy a cocktail, several starters (crispy island pork, anyone?), a main course, and a dessert, plus an edible treat to end the evening on a sweet note.

7. South Beach Seafood Festival

8. Taste of sbe

Miami’s sbe hotels host a series of culinary events at their various properties. The events kick off with the Celebrity Taste at SLS South Beach on Thursday evening with participation from The Bazaar by José Andrés, Leynia, Katsuya, Fi’lia by Michael Schwartz, Makoto and K Ramen.Burger.Beer. Katsuya South Beach will host an interactive Sushi Making Class and lunch. The Delano presents a Grand Dinner in their iconic lobby complete with special live performances. The weekend concludes in style with a Farewell Brunch at Diez y Seis.

9. Pig 9 (Pork Is Good)

Chef Jeremiah Bullfrog will host the ninth edition of P.I.G., a boutique food festival where guests can come together in celebration of all things pork while sipping craft beer and savoring delectable dishes by some of the brightest names in South Florida’s culinary community. This year’s line up includes heavyweights like Boulud Sud Miami’s Clark Bowen, Pubbelly’s Jose Mendin, Bazaar’s Karla Hoyos, Coyo Taco’s Scott Linquist, La Pollita’s Alex Meyer and Luciana Giangrandi, Mandolin’s Roel Alcudia and more.
