MTV is giving you motivation to get out there on Election Day: a free concert

Rock the vote. Remember that old MTV slogan?

It’s back. Kind of.

The cable channel is helping Miamians do their thing Election Day, Nov. 6, when Florida will elect a new governor (Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum vs. Ron Desantis) as well as major local, state and national posts.

To celebrate, MTV is throwing a midterm election “afterparty” the same night with some serious entertainment at Miami Dade College’s Kendall campus at 11011 SW 104th St. at Theodore R. Gibson Health Center.

The party, cohosted by Breakfast Club morning show host Charlamagne Tha God, will start after the polls close at 7 p.m. and run until 10.

The event will feature performances by Fat Joe, PRETTYMUCH, DJ Nasty and Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui as well as appearances by activists like Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg.

Organizers ask that attendees be at least 18 and understand that entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.

You may actually get to hook up while there as well, because MTV teamed up with Tinder to bolster voter turnout.

The dating app’s users will see messaging encouraging them to bring a “+1” to the polls.
