Diddy just pledged $100,000 to Puerto Rico before heading to Miami for his REVOLT Music Conference

When Diddy comes to town he usually brings an entourage of industry friends, but this time he’s also bringing bags of cash.

The Founder and CEO of Bad Boy Records announced on Instagram in advance of his four-day REVOLT Music Conference that he’s committing $100,000 towards the Hurricane Maria relief efforts in Puerto Rico. In his message, Diddy shares about his close relationship with the Puerto Rican community growing up in Harlem and that the devastation has been heavy on his mind.

Diddy is no stranger to Miami and will be in town for his annual music and media conference that brings out entertainment industry executives and media influencers who dish on making it in the industry. The four day lineup from Oct. 12-15 includes networking events and panels on topics like artist development, content creation and going indie.

Of course it’s not a Diddy event without hip-hop royalty in the building. Queen Latifah will be honored with the REVOLT Icon Award at the RMC gala dinner on Saturday with a performance by Lauryn Hill, SZA, and Daniel Caesar. Previous award recipients include Nas, Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Jimmy Iovine. French Montana kicks things off with the opening ceremony and a proclamation presented by Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine, and 2 Chainz takes over the mega yacht, SeaFair Miami, for a yacht party on Friday.
