Alter was voted one of Esquire’s Best New Restaurants of 2017

Kilgore, the chef/owner at Alter.Brett Hufizger

Brad Kilgore opened his acclaimed Wynwood restaurant Alter on May 27, 2015. Two years and five-ish months later, the restaurant was named as one of Esquire magazine’s 18 Best New Restaurants of 2017.

The author wrote that “the list encompasses the past couple years.” So we won’t be nitpicky.

Alter joins an exclusive club that includes NYC’s The Grill & The Pool, Brooklyn’s Olmsted, LA’s P.Y.T., Seattle’s JuneBaby, Portland, Oregon’s Coquine and Chicago’s Kitsune.

About Alter, the magazine says:

“Can’t stand tasting menus? We know. But Alter, which restaurateur Javier Ramirez brought to the street-arty Wynwood district in 2015, will (ahem) alter your perspective. That’s actually why they gave the place that name. Chef Brad Kilgore knows how to keep you from getting bored and broke: His five-course menu goes for $69. An extra $20 will score you his soft egg with caviar.”

Congrats and good luck getting in (still).
