Go Drink This: Paint Your Own Negroni

The drink: “Paint Your Own Negroni” by Philip Khandehrish

The story: Art Basel PTSD is lingering in Miami Beach after a couple frenetic weeks of preparation, countless art fairs, parties, and creepy celebrity gawking. The best cure is to channel your over-stimulated feelings into your own work of art. At the Setai Hotel, bartender Philip Khandehrish is offering a high-end palette for your palate with the “Paint Your Own Negroni” cocktail featuring Nolet’s Reserve Dry Gin, which retails for nearly $700 a bottle. (True story!) The luxurious sipping gin is defined by botanicals like warm, spicy saffron and delicate verbena that are distilled separately for precise flavor profiles. The Nolet’s is combined with Dolin sweet vermouth and Campari to add the drink’s iconic bitterness. It’s presented in a port wine glass with a paintbrush stirrer on the side for guests to paint the layers of the classic Italian apertivo. Make time for a Paint-Your-Own therapy session at the hotel’s tranquil bar any day through the end of December.

The price: $50

Where to find it: The Setai Hotel, 2001 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.
