Admit it, you were curious.
But now we know.
We only need to look at Dwyane Wade’s social media to figure out the answer to our burning question: The name of his and Gabrielle Union’s baby girl.
Wade posted an aerial picture with a great view of his toned shoulders. Two tattoos read, Kaavia and James. A table next to the NBA star is a cigar and a few glasses.
So there you have it.
Going forward: “Kaavia” is on his right shoulder and “James” is on his left.
We looked up the meaning of Kaavia and in the Kalabarian philosophy, it means you have an appreciation for “beautiful and refined aspects of life–music and art, literature, drama–and the outdoors, where you find much peace and relaxation, but it creates a far too sensitive nature.”
We didn’t know Wade followed that philosophy but that’s what the Internet gave us.
As for “James,” we can only think Wade’s ink was inspired by his bestie and former teammate LeBron James.
In all seriousness, the infant was named after Union’s godfather, James Glass, she told a fan, according to iHeart.
“#TBT Goes back to that one night in China when i decided to get my daughters name tattooed on me. Kaavia James Union Wade! #paternityleave,” Wade wrote in the caption.
The Miami Herald reports Wade actually got the tattoo last summer while traveling and managed to hide it from prying paparazzi eyes.
The power couple welcomed their first child together via surrogate Nov. 7.
