She won’t slow down.
Jennifer Lopez is just Mrs. Charity these days. The Las Vegas performer is not putting Puerto Rico on the back burner a month after Hurricane Maria ravaged the island. The Bronx native, who has P.R. roots, recently partnered with Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF to raise funds for children affected by natural disaster around the world.
JLo is the face of the campaign, which collects donations through Halloween Day (Oct. 31).
“When you Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, you get to be a hero, no matter what your costume is,” says Lopez in a promo. “You get to help save other kids around the world…please help the heroes by donating whatever you can.”
How “Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF” works: Instead of carrying around a plastic pumpkin to collect candy, kids are encouraged to tote the organization’s signature orange box and ask for donations.
“While conditions in Puerto Rico remain challenging, UNICEF USA is there, working to support children and families as they rebuild,” said Michelle Centeno, who manages Humanitarian Emergencies at UNICEF USA. “The scale of need demands that we all play a role in this ongoing effort, and work closely with partners to put children first.”
