Rock star Annie Lennox can finally make an honest man out of her beau of one year. How do we know? The wife of Mitch Besser, the American doctor who left her and their children after 28 years of marriage to be with the former front woman of The Eurythmics, filed for divorce in Palm Beach County. And the divorce is now final: The singer of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) is free to wed Debra Jackson’s man! But it came at a price, if you believe Jackson’s attorney, Jeff Fisher. “Like Annie Lennox’s song says, we made Dr. Besser walk on broken glass,” Fisher said. “He paid dearly for the pleasure of being with Ms. Lennox.” Lennox shot to fame in the 1980s with hits like Missionary Man. She’s now mostly active in women’s issues and the fight against AIDS. Besser and Jackson, a nurse, started an AIDS nonprofit in Africa, Mother2Mother, and both became friendly with Lennox while fundraising.
