Eat out, do good and hit the streets this weekend...

  • Eat out and do your party for Haiti this and every Saturday through the Super Bowl. Save Haiti Saturday participating restaurants including Philippe, David’s Café, Casa Tua, Monty’s, STK and Meat Market will donate a portion of proceeds from the night's revenue to Project Medishare/UM Global Institute for Haiti, which maintains clinics and training programs in Haiti and is running a field hospital at Port-au-Prince airport
  • Hit the streets from noon to 5pm Saturday (Jan 30) for a taste of Mimo. Biscayne boulevard between 68 & 77 streets will be food-focused for five glorious hours.   • Also on Saturday, Michelle Bernstein invites diners to drink Spain, out of the box at an open forum tasting at Sra Martinez at 1pm. Taste 12 Spanish wines paired with photos of famous people, local art, music and three short skits. $44 per person, call 305-573-5474 for info & reservations.
  • Kick off Sunday (or continue Saturday night) with a stop at Essensia at the Palms’ recently launched Sunday brunch. The three-and-a-half hour buffet (11:30am-3pm) focuses on fresh, organic and seasonal ingredients in its salad station, outdoor grill, risotto and pasta station and omelet bar. $39 per person, includes one glass of prosecco or mimosa, call 305-908-5458 for info & reservations.
  • Also on Sunday, celebrate the slower living at River Oyster Bar’s Slow Food Fish Dinner at 7pm. Chef David Bracha’s menu showcases regional seafood & local produce with such highlights as queen conch pinchon, Sebastian Bay white water oyster shooter, Key West yellowtail snapper and Homestead goat cheese panna cootta. $80 per person, $15 of each ticket will benefit a school garden program in Downtown Miami.   • Alternately, head south Sunday night to Homestead for a dinner under the stars at Paradise Farm’s monthly Dinner in Paradise. This iteration of the series features Michael Schwartz (Michael’s Genuine), Clay Conley (Azul), Sean Brasel (Meat Market) and Michael Bloise. $165 per person, proceeds benefit Barry University’s Plant a Thousand Gardens program.
