Those craving a bit more of MOCA can take a trip to its satellite branch at the Goldman Warehouse, only 15 minutes away. Donated by Tony and Joey Goldman for use through 2009, the building is just within the Wynwood Art District, giving MOCA presence in the tourist and art enthusiast hot spot. While its parent institution hosts large scale exhibitions for up to three months, the Goldman galleries allow MOCA to continue showing pieces from its permanent collection in 8,000 sq. ft. of additional exhibition space, with 2,000 sq. ft. dedicated to emerging South Florida artists, such as Daniel Arsham and Hernan Bas. On display are large-scale sculptures, collections of feminist photography, video art and recent acquisitions, including Luis Gispert's experimental film "Stereomongrel." Extra storage space also gives the museum breathing room to grow its entire collection.
