Excuse me... where is Versailles on this list?!?
Rio Crystal has been a long time fixture in South West Miami at 99th Ave and Bird Road (SW 40th St.) If you really want authentic as close to home cooked Cuban food, this place is it. Prices are reasonable as most plates are in the $9 to $12 range. The include a generous helping of black beans (to die for) and rice, hand cut french fries (in a huge mound) or Plantains (sweet or tostones.) The flan is the absolute best I have had in a restaurant. This is not a fancy place so don't let that fool you.
I've been eating there since I was 15 (now 52)
I don't find Padrino's to be terribly authentic, but it's decent. I still think the best is the original La Casita on SW 8th Street around 41st Avenue.
