Posted on Sun, 07.26.2009 @ 00:57Stay Away From Macondos In Miami Beach - Mike - Today We were greated at the door by a hostess that asked if we wanted to purchase a bottle of liquor, it was only my wife and I and I said that I was not interested to purchase a whole bottle, then she said that I had to pay a $ 20.00 per person cover charge. I asked if the place was full and she said it was not, there is plenty of room. We came in an the place was full to the gills, nowhere to seat or even a spot at the bar to lean. We tried to dance and it was nearly impossible, then we decided to leave and ask for our money back, the lady told me to speak to the doorman who turn around and asked me to read the sign at the wall he said " No refunds" , I said the place is full I can't even move, I want my money back, then he said you want to go back in.......or move out of the way, there is people wanting to come in. I told the people out in the line " Do not Pay to get in, the place is full and there is nowhere to seat " , then the doorman he told everyone that there was a VIP where they could seat. There is NO VIP room there, there was a few couches and they were all taken ! The place is NOT suited to be a night club, the distribution does not allow for seating and lacks of a specific dance floor, It may be a restaurant, but NOT a Night Club. I feel that they have no right to do that, they keep the line waiting for people to come in and leave.......charging the cover knowing that the place is full. I will contact the Better Business Bureau Regarding this matter, but on the meantime I strongly advise you to avoid the place. ... Read more
