Posted on Tue, 08.03.2010 @ 22:01I am handing out stars because of the incredible view. Drinks were not good, service was amateur at best, food was mediocre, no it was not good. But the Sunset was so amazing, it didn't seem to matter. ... Read moreBabalú Miami
Posted on Tue, 08.03.2010 @ 21:42I may up the stars when the shop opens. So far it looks fantastic and I love The Mews Building (even the pricey parking garage)Carnevale
Posted on Thu, 07.22.2010 @ 22:59Very disappointed in the service, food and prices at this tourist trap on Lincoln Rd. I needed a quick bite and they promised double drinks for $9. Food was not good, they charged me twice for the drink and added a tip but didn't disclose it to me, so they got the tip twice. I call this dishonest. I would never go back or recommend.... Posted on Thu, 07.22.2010 @ 22:51Who would have thought that tucked in the back right corner of one of the busiest suntan lotion and quick grab beach "stuff" shops on Miami Beach is a great little walk-in clinic! We needed a sport physical for a child but if you step on a pop-top and cut your foot at the beach you can go there and get yourself fixed in amazingly quick time. The practitioner there was kind, efficient, and genuinely cares about the patients, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant the illness or problem may seem. It is totally relieving to know they are there!... Read moreNic del Mar
Posted on Thu, 07.22.2010 @ 22:45My experience with Nic del Mar was at the Penthouse Suite at the Raleigh Hotel during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim. I won ticket to the Style and Swim Event which included a personalized session with Lyanne to find the bikini and cover-up of my dreams. They were so sweet and helpful and the suits were amazing. Every color, size and price range was available. The lovely champagne bar and gorgeous view of Miami Beach didn't hurt either. I even did a blog report of the experience at MiamiOlivia.... Posted on Thu, 07.22.2010 @ 22:37OK, this should have been one of the highlights of my life. I just bought a new gorgeous BMW. I waited to get the car in Florida and was hoping that going to Braman, which is close to my condo, would be as nice as their showroom looks. I was wrong. I saw at least 3 different sales people who don't communicate with each other at all. Then I got the "pit bull" Sales Manager. He was not only hyper and overly aggressive with me but also my salesman! They contradicted each other and misinformed us about extra charges. The whole experience took days and days and ended with very poor service when it came to actually picking up the car. They just didn't know how to handle the insurance and basically left up to us to figure out. I would NEVER buy a car there again. I cannot understand how such a great looking dealership can remain in business with such horrible customer service.... Read moreJournelle
Posted on Thu, 07.22.2010 @ 22:26I have been to Journelle twice in the last week. Once for a fabulous fashion show during Fashion Week Swim and once to shop for intimates. Both times, the staff was incredibly friendly and nice. The shop is gorgeous and there are unexpected touches, like amazing dressing rooms and knock out food for the show. There is always water bottles and candy to snack on and a luscious smell of lavender wafting from the store. They had an amazing sale going on too. You can't beat that!... Posted on Mon, 07.12.2010 @ 12:09We just saw Babalu: a tribute to Dezi Arnaz by his son and daughter Dezi Arnaz Jr and Lucy Arnaz. The show was fantastic. The center is amazing and accoustics rival Lincoln Center in New York. But the parking is a major problem. We had to park a block away and we did NOT feel safe returning to our car. Valet parking for $20 was available if you wanted to wait for 30 mins to get your car. This could spoil the opportunity this wonderful center has to add to Miami's Cultural scene.... Posted on Mon, 07.12.2010 @ 11:56This park is turning out to be one of my favorites. First of all it is puppy friendly. Second, plenty of water activity toys to rent and play with (windsurfing lessons only $35) and third, the tamale sellers are plentiful and delish! Oh, yeah and parking is free and next to your towel, under a palm tree!... Read moreInternational Mango Festival
Posted on Mon, 07.12.2010 @ 11:42If you love mangos, this was the place to be. So many varieties to try and buy (who knew) and mangos were made into some amazing food. We tried mango smoothies, ice cream from India (with Chai overtones; to-die-for), paella with chicken, and just plain fresh sliced. Spotted on the way in, Mango Martinis (we passed on it but sounded delish). There was an assortment of related vendors that had items for sale but it was not overdone. Next year we are signing up for the brunch because everyone got the cutest mango colored parasols as favors!... Read moreSra Martinez
Posted on Mon, 07.12.2010 @ 11:26I had lunch in this busy wonderful restaurant. I loved the atmosphere and the service was incredibly attentive. A bit too much oil on the food for me but all of the Tapas we ordered were tasty. It was the vibe in there that makes you want to come back again and again. It just felt incredibly chic.... Posted on Mon, 07.12.2010 @ 11:17We went on a Tuesday night an no crowds. We relaxed with a drink in the outdoor living room till sunset and moved inside to a chic white booth. I had one of the best meals of my life here! Succulent seared rare tuna and an incredible Million Dollar Mojito. The stunning white on white decor is incredibly cool way to beat the heat and service was impeccable. We loved the "Shopping Wall" too, one Penthouse please, just charge it! ...
