I love Miami and exploring new hot spots, hidden treasures, well-kept secrets, and new restaurants. I believe in always giving back and volunteer work is always a part of my life. In moving to downtown I discovered th...

  • Mercadito Midtown

Mercadito blends true native Mexican cuisine with a modern flair. Creative dishes and authentic delicacies are offered in an indoor/outdoor setting, with a separate taqueria for takeout and delivery. Food was good but highly overpriced. Why? Because of celebrity customers like Shakira and Jessica Simpson. This is not a moderately priced restaurant like neighboring ones. For my complete review and photos, visit http://www.myfabulousflorida.com/2011/02/restaurant-review-mercadito-midtown.html... Read more
  • D. Rodriguez Cuba

While I have read mixed reviews about this restaurant I see the chef has taken feedback to heart and continuously worked on improvements. Overall I enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service. The ceviche was probably the least memorable but satisfactory. To see photos of food and read my complete review visit: www.myfabulousflorida.com and check left hand column for restaurant reviews. I plan on returning for Sangria Brunch on Sundays.... Read more
  • Asia de Cuba

Crowds come to this restaurant first and foremost for the ambience (the decor is stunning) and the people watching. The food is delicious but very pricey and definitely NOT plentiful. This is for young crowd and not mature crowd because the acoustics is LOUD. To ensure the restaurant profits, at bottom of menu in fine print "minimum is $25 per person". • Le Boudoir-Brickell

Loved it! I felt transported to Paris. Salad was delicious and pastries divine. Except the macarons (NOT macaroons) are very sweet. One is enough. For my detailed review visit my blog. www.myfabulousflorida.com and scan left column under restaurant reviews.... Read more
  • Canyon Ranch Salon

On Memorial Day weekend I treated myself to a Day Spa and it was fabulous. While I live in downtown and often go to South Beach, Canyon Ranch is nestled in upper Miami Beach and I felt I was another world away. The package is little pricey but the luxurious surroundings, and exceptional service, and classes are worth it. I strongly recommend taking a few exercise classes and using the gym to make the most of it. My package only included one "treatment" so I chose a massage to destress...To read my complete review and see pictures visit http://www.myfabulousflorida.com/2010/06/canyon-ranch-resort.html ... • Himmarshee Bar and Grill

Don't you love pleasant surprises--especially when it comes to food? This charming-on-the-outside, hip-decor-on inside restaurant offered fantastic creations. The average dinner entree was $27. Not bad for this gem in downtown Ft.Lauderdale. ... Read more
  • Zucchero Ristorante

I finally visited this restaurant in June 2009 since it opened November 2008 and I actually gave it the first "well kept secret" designation based on the service. I hope it wasn't presumptuous considering it was one visit. Go to www.myfabulousflorida.com (check rightside menu bar for "Restaurant reviews") for my complete review. Salute!... Read more

I had a small chance to sample this restaurant's appetizers and one drink. The decor and ambience are appealing and this Coral Gables restaurant attracts an older 30- year old + crowd. This is great. For pictures and my review visit http://www.myfabulousflorida.com... Read more

  • Oceanaire Seafood Room

I recently had a business lunch here with seven other colleagues. First the decor gets high marks--modern and clean. Now for the food. If you eat oysters, then Oceanaire is your destination. Different types of oysters (the names I can't even recall (i'm not an oyster connosseur), were attractively arranged on a ice tray. My coworkers devoured it. I on the other hand had the shrimp cocktail--average. The sour dough bread was also another comfort food that received high marks. The main course, I ordered the Pumpkin Swordfish. A fan of swordfish, I was disillusioned. There was no seasonal pumpkin to accentuate the fish. "Pumpkin" referred to the dirty orange-colored carmelized onions. A disappointment. I've had better fish at less expensive restaurants. Not worth the price. What did receive rave reviews were the Bloody Mary's. Served in a tall hourglass shaped glass, the rim is frosted with what appears to be salt and Old Bay Seasoning--the secret ingredient. Onto desserts--the chocolate rum cake and bread pudding were more than decadent--they were sinful. I loved every morsel! Finally the service met our expectations--not surprising given the high powered individuals at the table. Skip the entrees. Fill up with Bloody Mary's, oysters and desserts at the Oceanaire. ... • Quantum of Solace (PG-13) **

For the most part I agree with Rene's review, but I was not rushed for the next Bond. A big fan of true love and James Bond, I engrossed myself in his grief and mission.
