  • Largo Bar and Grill

The Largo Bar & Grill is located within the Bayside Marketplace in the heart of downtown Miami. One thing that cannot be denied is the view is spectacular and with plenty of outdoor seating it is a great location to come chill, have a few drinks or a meal overlooking the water! There are also plenty of TVs to enjoy watching a Heat game if you are unable to get tickets or simply cause you want a nice place to hang and watch the game. As far as the food goes, it's not so hot. Considering Largo is suppose to be a more upscale restaurant, it was surprising that the crab cakes were mostly composed of bread crumbs and as a result tasted like mush (your could not taste any crab), and that the Filet Mignon was overcooked and tasteless. On a positive note the Mediterranean Snapper, which is served on a bed of mashed potatoes and topped with Mediterranean vegetables was actually good. It was a very generous portion and if I ever came back, I could order that again. The drinks (I had a mojito) were typical. Largo Bar & Grill is a little expensive, but it is located inside Bayside, which is geared towards tourist so despite that, the prices are on par. If a great ambiance is your main focus then it is great place to sit by the water to enjoy the view. If the view alone is motivation enough to come and check this place out, go for a seafood or fish dish or just stick to the drinks.... Read more
  • La Barraca Tapas Bar & Cafe

Went to Spain, had a great time and have been missing it ever since. Once I heard about La Barraca Tapas Bar & Café, I suspected a visit would be great opportunity to hopefully experience what I have been missing. From the outside of the restaurant to the inside decor, you know their goal is to make you feel as if you're in Spain. You are even greeted in Spanish. As soon as you're seated you are offered wine or sangria. I choose sangria and although it was good, I have had better. Be careful when ordering water, because they will bring you a bottle of mineral water and charge you $5. Their complimentary bread was delicious, but only because their garlic butter amazing. The tapas we ate were great, my favorite being the Fillet Mignon Kabob with Potatoes. The meat was tender, sauce mouthwatering and potatoes an added bonus. We also ordered Jamón Serrano (Spanish cured ham imported from Spain) because that was a favorite when we were in Spain and the Churrasco De Carne Con Mojo Picon (skirt steak with "mojo" from the canary islands). Both were also really good. My only disappointed was that I didn't try more, but I have the next visit for that. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8 & 10pm they put on a Flamenco Show. The flamenco show was entertaining, but having experience an authentic show in Spain, it just was not the same, but it was still a great show. Note that if you dine at the restaurant during those times, they will tack on $5 per person to your bill for the show. Other than the unexpected charged for the show and the water, everything was reasonable prices. La Barraca Tapas Bar & Café is a fun place that makes you feel like you're in Spain. They offer a wide variety of Spanish tapas, great wines, and an excellent live Flamenco show. And since I am unable to visit Spain all the time, La Barraca will be my alternative when I am missing it.... Read more
  • 8 Oz. Burger Bar

I have to admit I have had quite a few burgers in my lifetime and this burger spot tops the list. Orangic, great toppings, sweet potato fries, perfect portions, great buns equals an amazingly delicious burger. And to top it off, they offer a great selection of beers to compliment your meal. Try the Grass Fed Burger (with bleu cheese), my favorite!... Read more
  • Moon Thai & Japanese

I frequent this restaurant quite a bit and so far I have been satisfied with my experience. My staples for this restaurant are the Chicken Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice which we eat family style amongst my group and we have not gone wrong yet. The setting is relaxed, colorful and cherry making it a great spot for families and couples alike.... Read more
  • Lirio’s

Daydreaming about eating a canoli for several days, my craving finally got the best of me leading me to search the Italian restaurants in the area. A quick look of a few online menus, I decided upon Lirio’s. Not only was the handmade canoli a delightful and satisfying dessert, the Linguine Alle Vongole (six fresh Middleneck clams sautéed in red clam sauce over linguini) was simply delicious also. I have to say, this meal was probably one of the best Italian dishes I have had in a while. Besides a tasty bite, you will receive generous portions for a good price and that includes the canoli. Although I cannot say much for the ambience, since I placed my order to go, the bit I did see and how amazing the food had tasted, I will be dining in real soon.... Read more
