We paid almost $100 for 1 terrible meal, 1 good meal, 2 glasses of wine, a lack of atmosphere, and a lot of bad service. The Food: 1 meal was the pre-fixed “Miami Spice Menu” where for $36 you choose an appetizer (pear salad), entrée (mahi with shrimp/clams), and dessert (crème Brule) from a set menu. The starter bread was terrible, the salad was very good, the mahi was the worst I have ever had, and the desert was good. I eat Mahi on a regular basis, and have been for the last 10yrs. I usually have a fresh fillet grilled with some spices and lemon and I know what good Mahi tastes like. Either the fish was bad (it tasted rotten), or had been overwhelmed by the seafood broth that the accompanying shrimp and clams were cooked in, but bottom line was it was so bad I ate a few bites and didn’t touch the rest and then had stomach pains for 2 days. Meal 2 was a Filet Mignon for $35. Very good cut of meat, prepared as ordered, sides of vegetables were poor (over cooked, and plain). The Service: more like what service. The place was seemingly slow for what I have read about this place—no live music, 2 other 2-tops and 2 8-tops. Our waiter was not understandable (I had him repeat the specials twice and we still couldn’t understand him). After we ordered we never saw the waiter again until the check, or the maître d', or the chef—in my other fine dinning experiences this never happens. We debated as to make a scene to send the meal back or see if anyone cared to check on how we were doing. We decided on the latter (see if anyone cared to check on how we were doing)—and since no one did we tipped 10% and left never to return. Bottom line—this place might have a good outdoor patio and maybe does some meat entrees well, but overall it is quite poor and is not recommended for the price, you can do much better elsewhere in south Florida. ...
