  • Prime Blue Grille

A solid restaurant with a good lunch vibe -- especially good for client lunches. The food is tasty, and the menu offers a lot of options, from sandwiches to full entrees. Dinner time is also good, although the Miami River view is better during the day. Friendly and courteous staff. ... Read more
  • Michael's Genuine Food & Drink

This place is just awesome. You feel like you're dining at a great restaurant in Manhattan (which is maybe why the New York Times recently chose it as a top new restaurant outside of New York). The service is great, the food is tasty, adventuresome (only place in SoFla where I've seen kimchi on the menu) and inventive. You will not be disappointed. Also, and I hope restaurants on the Beach read this, the food is reasonably priced given the quality. I leave this place thinking they could have charged more money, as opposed to my experience with just about every new place that opens on the Beach!... Read more
  • Bartolome Grill & Restaurant

Oh, Bartolome, how I wanted to love thee! I think Miami needs more of these little family run restaurants, which is why I am conflicted about writing a negative review. I want Bartolome to succeed and was glad to see that the Herald recently gave them a good review. When I went, however, the service was an A+ but the food was a C-. But, alas, a piece of lukewarm purple flesh is altogether a different story. I will give this place another try, but for now, I worry about dear old Bart.... Read more
  • Macaluso's

I know that people complain about having to wait because they don't take reservations or how the "regulars" get priority seating, this place is still one of the best places in Miami-Dade. The food is simply good -- nothing fancy; just delicious. Their wine list is superb; just ask Charlie, the bartender, for a recommendation and you won't go wrong. For dessert, try the moist and mouth-watering vanilla cake or the tasty ricotta cheesecake. Come for the food and the wine, enjoy the ambiance and have a great Italian dining experience.... Read more
  • First look: Philippe

So, this place is really a nightclub where you can order overpriced Chinese food. Perhaps it should go under the "Nightlife" postings. I'm tired of overpriced food in Miami-Dade! I have no problem paying for a good meal at any one of our great restaurants, like Michael's, Macaluso or Michy's, but $42 for chicken and broccoli? Really? ... Read more
