It's funny how so many so-called "car techs" are in to scam our poor souls...it makes me so mad! My partner got scammed as well once...he/she went to get his oil and filter changed amd his tires (which he brought WITH 'em) and they didn't do a darn thing. It's a Miami thing I guess. I feel you...My 2000 Camry has been good to me so far and I will not part with it until it falls apart, although it's happened quite often. Before Camry, I had an array of beaters and they all cost me money...one left me in the middle of the train tracks by FIU Biscayne Bay campus. So not fun. I'm glad you found a good mechanic though.
