Tony Bennett playing Hard Rock plus two galas
At 80 he won't slow down
2/13/2012
For an 85-year-old — or even a 30-year-old for that matter — Tony Bennett is impressive, to say the least. He’ll be making the rounds soon, first with two shows at the Hard Rock March 16-17, and then on March 19, the 17-time Grammy winner is hosting his first annual Tony Bennett All-Star Tennis Event and Benefit Gala. The two-part event kicks off with a tennis tourney at The Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne where tennis enthusiasts will have the opportunity to test their skills against players including Novak Djokovic, Kim Clijsters and Ryan Harrison. Before the love matches, Bennett will perform God Bless America. Later that night he’ll host a gala at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens featuring performances by Alejandro Sanz and The Bryan Brothers Band, among others. Tickets benefit Exploring the Arts, Team Bryan and the Greater Miami Tennis Foundation. To purchase, go to www.tonybennettevent.com. A week later, Bennett will appear at the Fontainebleau for the Blacks’ Annual Gala. We’re exhausted for him.
