Grand Marshall Vanilla Ice hosts this annual event challenging five-person teams to a mad dash through the streets of Coconut Grove with one pilot riding aboard a bed as four runners scramble to get to the finish line first — all in the name of charity. The fun begins at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Family Pajama Party and continues with the Pit Row Parade and celebrity judging at noon, when awards will be handed out for “Best Décor,” “Best Engineered,” “Just Plain Funniest” and “Crowd Favorite.” The racing runs from 1-5 p.m. as the teams hit the streets, barreling down South Bayshore Drive to raise money for Little Smiles Foundation, an organization that helps children with chronic medical conditions. Information at www.thegreatgrovebedrace.com. Admission is $5, free for kids under 12.
