Swim Week Lives On

Just because IMG (formerly sponsored by Mercedes-Benz) opted out of the Swim Week picture this particular season, well, the show must go on, Miami! Taking place July 15th through the 21st, Swim Week will indeed return and provide a world-class runway platform for designers to launch swimwear and resort 2016 collections.

As in years past, the invite-only production draws glossy magazine editors, department store buyers and boutique owners, most of whom are already in town to attend the massive, annual trade show, Swim Show by the Swimwear Association of Florida, which takes place July 18th to the 21st at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The gist of Swim Week? Industry insiders, VIPs and celebrities (think supermodels Chrissy Teigen, Nina Agdal and Irina Shayk, Kourtney Kardashian, Scott Disick, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian) flock to sultry shores of SoBe to celebrate the sexiest swimwear designs in the world. This year’s designers include fashion shows and presentations by brands such as Mara Hoffman, Wild Fox, Tory Burch, Maaji, Eres, Caffé, Mohini, Beach Bunny, Clover Canyon and more.

A barrage of fashion shows, pop-up shops and soirees will take place at a spate of Miami Beach properties compliments of Swim Week Calendar. These venues include 1 Hotel, Casa Casuarina (formerly known as the Versace Mansion), The Delano, Edition Hotel, The Setai, The W Hotel, The Thompson Hotel, The SLS and The Setai. Go here for more Swim Week Calendar details.

FUNKSHION will also be bringing the fashion fire. Taking place July 16th through the 19th, revelers can expect four runways over the water at The Setai, Soho Beach House, The SLS, The Thompson Hotel and one state-of-the-art tent located at Collins Avenue Between 21st and 22nd Streets. There’s a philanthropic twist, too.The fashionable team behind Style Saves will produce its 5th annual fashion show fundraiser, Style Saves Swim, which takes place on July 17th at the Miami Beach EDITION. Kicking off Swim Week, the consistently sold-out event will feature a bevy of models who will showcase the latest de rigueur styles. Hitting the catwalk to “build confidence through clothes,” all proceeds from the event will be donated to support the Style Saves mission to raise funds for underprivileged students.
