From flirtatious pumps to sumptuously sexy stilettos, SWeitzman tugs at heart strings with more than 600 new styles produced each year. With brand ambassadors such as Kate Moss and, most recently, Gisele Bündchen, shoppers are standing in good company — while wearing ridiculously racy over-the-knee boots, of course. Weitzman filled us in on inspiration, confidence and supermodel muses.
What do you feel makes a Stuart Weitzman shoe unique? Playfully glamorous design, unique usage of an array of materials and attention to comfort and fit.
Do you remember the first pair of shoes you ever sold? Details please! Yes, they were so successful that my father had the shoe bronzed for me: Carrera marbleized shoe with a natural python toe.
If you designed a shoe for the Miami woman, what would it look like? Definitely a stiletto encrusted in Swarovski crystals and fire red.
How do you see your brand evolving in the years to come? I think the future will entail entry into other accessory categories and an expanding retail network.
What’s your favorite shoe of from your fall collection? The sexy over-the-knee stocking boots – flat and high heel.
From Kate to Gisele, you’ve had A-list talent featured in your campaigns. What characteristics do you look for in a Stuart Weitzman model? The Stuart Weitzman woman always has great energy, personality and style, and fabulous legs.

Your ad campaigns are typically set to memorable music. What’s your favorite song and why? “Natural Women.” You really don’t have to ask why, do you?
What’s one of your most memorable moments as a designer? Elevating the shoe to legend status, with the million dollar sandal worn to the 2002 Academy Awards.
Where do you draw inspiration? I am inspired by my surroundings, especially women…I believe creativity can be sparked by the simplest details.
What’s the one message you’d like to say to the women who wear your footwear? Thank you for inspiring me to create beautiful shoes.
If you weren’t a designer, what would be Plan B? A professional Ping-Pong player. I love the game!
