Street Chic: Leslie Munsell

Meet Leslie Munsell. She’s a freelance makeup artist represented by Ford, Co-Owner of Van Michael Miami Salon and Founder Beauty For Real makeup. When not working, you can catch Munsell horseback riding or brightening up the world with her light-up glosses, nail polishes and mascara. Born and raised in Franklin, Minnesota (the Catfish Capital!), this small-town girl has big-time style. Here, my fellow fashionistas, are Munsell’s stylish stats:

Name: Leslie Munsell

Spotted at: The Lorie Lester boutique opening

The outfit: Rebecca Taylor top, belt from her stash from the ‘80s, YSL pants, Mui Mui shoes, beads from local Miami designer Lis, necklace from store in Capri, Rolex rose gold watch, Bulgari bracelets from ‘70s.

What is your go-to store? “My very favorite store is Barneys in New York,” Munsell says.

Best jewelry designer: “I really want a Rene Lewis necklace,” she confides.

You’ve just inherited, $2,000 where are you blowing it? “Either at Barneys or Tackeria — a store in Wellington with equestrian wear,” she says.

Fave shoe designer: “Prada and Gucci seem to fit me best — I have really long feet,” she adds.

The one Item your eyeing to purchase for winter? Helmut Lang shearling vest.

What are your closet’s staples? “I like to buy really good shoes and bags — then the rest can be mixed high and low and you look great. I have lots of my favorite things I’ve saved from the last 30 years that I mix in with new. This saves you from being a fashion victim!  I’m in riding clothes much of my free time,” Munsell says.

IT handbag designer: “Right now I love Givenchy and Balenciaga,” she adds.

What is the biggest fashion faux pas?  “Ill fitting clothing- especially too tight. Ouch!” she admits.

What is the worst trend you ever trend? “Would you like to see my neon purple/fuchsia wool suit with shoulder pads the size of a small planet? I still have it!” she laughs.
