John Woo’s two-part, four-hour epic, based on the battle of Red Cliff during the Han Dynasty in 208 A.D., finally hits U.S. theaters in November, but as a single film with a running time of about 2.5 hours. While I have no problem waiting for indie films and documentaries to hit my mailbox via Netflix, this is the kind of sweeping epic that demands to be seen on the big screen.
