The sweltering August days have come and gone and this late-summer rain is bringing in the cooler weather. Thursday, Sept. 1
37 Years of Churchill’s – One of Miami’s oldest and most stellar live music venues is celebrating a big birthday. For five days, Churchill’s Pub will be opening its doors to over 100 local and international acts for your jamming pleasure. Labor Day Weekend’s looking good.

Rooftop Unplugged Sessions – Join A+E District as magic washes over the city skyline at the Filling Station Lofts for the crowd-favorite concert, Rooftop Unplugged Sessions. Take in an intimate performance by local eclectic spirit and folky performer, Keith Johns. Enjoy handmade ice cream sandwiches by Wynwood Parlor and sips to drink in the soothing sounds and breathtaking views of the city.

Friday, Sept. 2
Ball & Chain Music Festival – Ball & Chain is excited to celebrate their second annual three-day music festival taking place Sept. 2-4. Guests are invited to join as they host an action-packed weekend filled with amazing live music, DJs, and entertainment. A special music festival craft menu will be available. Acts like Palo!, Spam Allstars, Magic City Hippies, Electric Piquete and more will perform.

Saturday, Sept. 3
18th Annual Afro Roots Festival – The North Beach Bandshell is back at it. This year the festival will feature the Chicago Afrobeat Project, a rising star among afrobeat groups after emerging as one of the first nationally touring American bands to take the sound to the masses. Other acts include Aurelio Martinez, Uma Galera and DJ Moses.

Sunday, Sept. 4
The Underline September Ride to Coral Gables Villages – Bike through the historic Coral Gables Villages with The Underline Cycling Club from the South Miami Metrorail Station. We’ll ride through the historic Coral Gables Villages and end at Dr Smood in South Miami for a short nutrition talk while sampling smart food for a good mood.

Tuesday, Sept. 6
eek Drive In – Explore Miami’s visual history upstairs at 27 with The New Tropic + host Kevin Wynn! He’ll be taking you on a journey through history featuring archival footage of Miami. This week’s topic will be swimsuit season, highlighting swimsuit styles from the 1950s –1980s.

A Thai Cooking Class – Sprouted Chef is back at the Wynwood Yard, continuing its cooking sessions that take place every other Wednesday. ICA Ideas: Shut Up and Draw – ICA Miami welcomes New Zealand-based artist Susan Te Kahurangi King as she leads one of her signature hands-on events, “Shut Up and Draw.” The event demands collaborative involvement by audience members, who will draw a large-scale mural on the walls of ICA Miami’s multipurpose room. Taking as its starting point motifs from Susan’s drawings, the mural will sprawl into a delirious landscape of colorful forms and warped fragments.

Movies Under the Stars – The A+E District collaboration with Miami Film Festival is back with their next installment of Movies Under the Stars at Canvas.
