Prada Miami Design District

The lowdown: Fact: Miami Design District is becoming swankier by the second. With the recent opening of luxury Italian fashion house Prada, the de rigueur neighborhood is brimming with not only furniture and art, but ready-to-wear collections as well.

“This store opening strengthens Prada Group’s presence in North America,” Prada Group Communications and External Relations Director Stefano Cantino says. “With the Miami boutique, Prada now has a total of 33 stores in the United States, consolidating the Group’s development strategy which forsees the opening of approximately 80 directly operated stores per year in all key markets,” Cantino adds.

The ‘hood: The new Prada is in good, well-heeled company. The boutique’s neighbors include Louis Vuitton, Celine, Christian Louboutin and Mason Martin Margiela.

The ambience: Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the boutique is replete with cream carpeted floors, round-cornered rooms, circular crystal tables and colored displays. An exclusive cloverleaf-shaped sofa adds a major dose of glam.

Highlights: Prada purists can scoop up women’s wear, leather goods and footwear collections all under one meticulously designed roof.
