Pop-Up Parks Sprout in Downtown Miami Parking Spaces on Friday

Looking for some green space in the concrete jungles of Miami?

Metered parking spaces throughout Downtown Miami will be temporarily transformed into 11 pop-up parks during PARK(ing) Day on Friday, Sept. 19.

Presented by Urban Impact Lab in partnership with the Miami Foundation and the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Department, PARK(ing) Day calls attention to the need for more urban open spaces and champions the message that “PARKs build community.”

PARK(ing) Day will feature benefits of parks for residents to sample and enjoy throughout the downtown urban setting, as nature, outdoor recreation and eco adventure invade concrete and asphalt parking spaces for the day. Drivers and pedestrians alike will be invited to participate and become one with the green scene.

Miami-Dade Parks will host two  pop-up park locations, featuring free interactive activities and refreshments at the times and locations listed below.
