Get ready to delve into the mix, Lincoln Road. INTERMIX, that is. On September 8th, fashion’s leading retailer will open its newest boutique on the pedestrian-friendly mall. Joining its Collins Avenue and Bal Harbour Shops sister stores, the Lincoln Road door brings the brand to 40 boutiques peppered throughout the U.S.
“We look forward to bringing even more of our signature styling and exclusive merchandise to Miami with Lincoln Road being our third boutique in the market,” INTERMIX Chief Executive and Co-founder Khajak Keledjian says.
Established in 1993, INTERMIX is a multi-brand women’s specialty retailer known for its meticulously curated selection of coveted designers. In 2012, the brand was acquired by Gap Inc., making it a fashion tour de force.
The newfangled 2,640 square-foot boutique exudes a fresh and authentic Miami Beach feel. Swathed in white and crème hues, clients can expect woven fitting room curtains, natural suede upholstery, jute carpets and whitewashed oak floors. “Our Lincoln Road boutique has a chill vibe and a neutral palette. That laid-back vibe gets polished with white onyx stone, metallic wallpaper and leather tabletops. We paired up with Francesco LoCastro, an Italian contemporary artist based in Miami, to paint four wall murals,” Keledjian says. The store partnered with Amsterdam-born designer Pieter Ceizer and Parisian prêt-a-porter brand ELEVENPARIS to celebrate the opening.
Separating itself from the other South Florida-based INTERMIX shops, the selection will reflect the sartorial sensibilities of the quintessential Lincoln Road woman. “Each of our stores differs slightly from the others, and is localized for the neighborhood — the interior design, the way we style, our edited product selection, and our associates,” Keledjian adds.
In other words, shoppers can sift through a more relaxed-yet-edgy assortment. “Our Lincoln Road client has a downtown edge; she’s kind of chiller than the Collins Avenue client. She’s on the go, so our distressed Rag & Bone jeans with flat Valentino sandals fit her lifestyle,” Keledjian says. Other labels up for grabs include Chloé, Proenza Schouler, Missoni, Helmut Lang, Sergio Rossi and Barbara Bui.
As for their Bal Habour Shops store, it will reopen in November and increase in size by approximately 500 square feet. Reflecting the nuances of its transient neighborhood, the store will cater to the international set.
