For four power packed days (July 29 – August 1, 2015), political, business, and community leaders will convene in Ft Lauderdale for the 2015 National Urban League Conference, “Save Our Cities: Education, Jobs & Justice!” With sessions tackling the crises in education, employment, and police misconduct facing communities across the country, the Conference will convene a who’s who of social justice, business, and millennial leaders discussing what needs to be done to #SaveOurCities. The conference expected to attract 5,000 to 10,000 people and generate $8 million to $10 million for the local economy

Perhaps one of the most anticipated sessions of the power packed event is the July 31st session, “Off To The Races: The 2016 Presidential Candidates’ Plenary” where presidential hopefuls former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson are expected to speak on race.

Guest speakers include: Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Rev. Al Sharpton, MC Lyte, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, and more. Susan L. Taylor, Essence Magazine Editor-in-Chief Emerita and founder/CEO of National CARES Mentoring Movement – National Office, is also confirmed to speak at the National Council of Urban League Guilds Leadership Luncheon!

Small Business Matters Summit
Saturday, August 1, 8AM – 6PM – Broward County Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Blvd

The one day entrepreneurship summit provides a full day of business skill development workshops on management, marketing, and access to capital. Topics include learning about financial strategies and options for access to capital, marketing through social media, management consulting and training services for the growth and development of a business. Summit activities include business workshops, a pitch contest, technical assistance and financing, and the Small Business Matters Luncheon. Free registration.
