Bring out your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets for an evening of jazz under the stars at the monthly jazz event featuring a live performance by Rose Max and Ramatis. Free and open to the entire family.

South Florida Book Festival
Friday, July 22 – Saturday, July 23 – African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, 2650 Sistrunk Blvd, Ft. Lauderdale

Book lovers unite for a weekend featuring African-American New York Times bestselling authors, nationally renowned speakers and business entrepreneurs, book industry professionals, and rising literary stars. Featured authors and speakers include Miko Branch, Co-founder of Miss Jessie’s and New York Times bestselling author Brenda Jackson, among others. The weekend kicks off with the 5th Annual Evening with the Stars on Friday, July 22 for an evening of light jazz, stimulating conversations, hors d’oueuvres, and wine. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. On Saturday, July 23 the Book Festival continues with a full day of free literary activities, workshops, and book signings. Must Love Beards Day Party

I Don’t Do Clubs is headed to Miami. Known for throwing super cool events in New York for Black professionals tired with the typical social scene, I Don’t Do Clubs is bringing it’s Must Love Beards day party concept to Miami. It’s the social experience for the men who rock beards and the women who can’t get enough of them! Overtown Music Festival
Saturday, July 23, 11AM – 7PM – Overtown Business District, NW 3rd Ave between 8th & 11th Street

Jeremih, Estelle, Eric Benet, Amerie, Jon B, and Tito Puento, Jr performs live and it’s all free. The family friendly event also includes a Youth Zone with youth performances, sporting competitions and other activities and also includes arts 7 crafts vendors and ethnic foods available for sale. The festival is presented by Headliner Market Group, Commissioner Keon Hardemon, and the Southeast Parkwest CRA.

International Music Fest
Saturday, July 23, 8PM – 2AM – Betty T. Ferguson Complex, 3000 NW 199th St, Miami Gardens

A music festival celebrating cultural diversity through music from traditional African to gospel, hip hop, reggae, calypso, soca, and more. Performances include Harmonik representing Haiti; Flavour representing Africa; Nigel Luis representing Trinidad and Tobago; Sassy Singz representing Haiti; and Dilly Chris representing Jamaica. Lyric Comedy Fest
Saturday, July 23, 9PM – Historic Lyric Theater, 819 NW 2nd Ave, Overtown

The Black Archives hosts a night of sidesplitting laughter with comedian T.K. Kirkland live along with comedian Doo Doo Brown from the Bad Bods of Comedy, comedian George W from the Tom Joyner Cruise, local comedian Chello Davis, and hosted by South Florida’s own Larry Dogg. Reggae Sundays
