Afropolitan Miami
Friday, June 3, 6PM – 11PM – Rec Room, 1690 Collins Ave, Miami Beach

South Florida’s largest monthly Afro-Caribbean professional mixer hosts a Black Music Month edition for an evening of Connections & Culture Over Cocktails from 6pm – 8pm followed by the party from 8pm-11pm. International sounds featuring Afrobeats, soca, dancehall, kompa, hip hop, and R&B. Free before 7pm with RSVP at AfropolitanMiami.com; $10 with RSVP after 7pm and must RSVP by June 2.

Lyric Live
Friday, June 3, 8PM – 11PM – Historic Lyric Theater, 819 NW 2nd Ave, Overtown

The Black Archives presents the return of Miami’s amateur night showcase where the audience decides who’s got the talent and who’s got to go. Season 3 opens with plenty of talent, laughs, and fun and is hosted by comedian Chello. Cheer on your favorite performers and dance along with Showtyme Junkanoo as contestants take the historic stage to compete for the grand prize! Admission $10 and can also be paid at the door or online at LyricLive.eventbrite.com.

Day La Soul Day Party
Saturday, June 4, 5PM – 10PM – E11even Rooftop, 29 NE 11th St, Miami

SocialXchange Miami hosts an old school hip hop rooftop day party featuring music from the 90’s and 2000’s. Admission $10 in advance at DayLaSoulMiami.eventbrite.com.

Trick Daddy live at Churchills
Saturday, June 4, 8PM – Churchill’s Pub, 5501 NE 2nd Ave, Miami

Miami’s neighborhood underground bar hosts T Double D live in concert along with local featured artists. $30 early bird tickets available at TrickDaddyMiami.eventbrite.com.

Purple Rain Celebration for Black Music Month
Saturday, June 4, 6:30PM – 9:30PM – African American Research Library & Cultural Center, 2650 Sistrunk Ave, Ft Lauderdale

Party like it’s 1999 with a Black Music Month Purple Rain celebration featuring Prince’s greatest hits. Enjoy Purple Rain signature cocktail drink, “Sexy Dancer” contest, Prince impersonator contest with a cash prize to the winner, and complimentary appetizers while they last. Deltas After Dark – Fire & Ice

The ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority South Broward Alumnae Chapter hosts a fundraising party with proceeds benefiting the chapter’s service projects. Tickets $20 in advance; $25 at the door.

Beyond Brunch Sundays
Sunday, June 5, 11AM – 7PM – Martini Bar at Gulfstream, 601 Silks Run, Hallandale

LIV Alive Social Group hosts a weekly Sunday brunch and day party. $35 all you can eat unlimited brunch and $15 bottomless mimosas from 11am – 4pm; followed by the day party from 3pm-7pm. Complimentary entry before 7pm.

Reggae Sundays
