Diner En Blanc, the world’s largest pop-up dinner party, made its official Miami debut this past week with 1,200 white-clad guests gathering for a dinner under the stars at the New World Symphony’s Soundscape Park. The spontaneity of meeting up at a secret location and bringing along their own gourmet picnic, fine china and silverware, white tablecloths, tables, and chairs made this the place the be on a Tuesday night. Even actress Gabrielle Union were among the revelers and celebrated the event with friends.
After attendees set up their beautifully decorated tables and settled in, they were instructed to take part in the traditional waving of the white napkins, marking the commencement of the event. During dinner, guests enjoyed sounds from a jazz band playing French tunes, flowing Moet and Apothic wine that guests could purchase as part of their meals, and guest curated dinners from caviar to deviled eggs. The signature sparkler moment signaled the end of dinner and kicked off the dance party to the tunes of DJ Jessica Who. The pop-up party popped off until 11pm when guests and their portable picnics returned home on their buses waiting for next year’s secret picnic.
Launching 26 years ago in Paris, Diner En Blanc has become a global phenomenon landing in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and most recently, the Magic City.
