The solstice has passed and Summer is in full bloom. As Miami continues to grow into a vibrant cultural landscape, the events and happenings spike exponentially, filling our weeks with life for both locals and tourists alike. July has already begun and as you prepare to take on the heat, get your calendars ready for the summer programming our city will be shelling out. From outdoor concerts to improv sing-alongs, check out what we’ve set aside for you these next coming weeks:


Friday, July 1

TGIF at Villain TheaterTGIF showcases Chicago-style improvisation and sketch comedy with emphasis on emotional connection, collaboration, and grounded scene work. Don’t miss it! Full liquor bar will be available courtesy of Gramps Bar. This months SPECIAL OFFER: July Birthdays get in FREE with valid ID!

Live at Libertine – One of the city’s only speakeasy vibes, Libertine brings the old feeling of swanky live tunes back to downtown. Enjoy the electro-pop sounds of two of the city’s emerging bands: Sigh Kicks and AstroMaps. They definitely deserve the support!

Saturday, July 2

Netflix & Chill Open Air FestivalSpotted presents first “Netflix & Chill” Open Air Festival. Celebrate the launch of the Spotted app in Miami ( as they transform the Tropical Park into the largest free open air movie theater the city has ever seen. Take your partners, bring your friends, pack your favorite snacks and grandma’s picnic blanket and enjoy the best movies and series on Netflix with hundreds of other people.

Warehouse Wrap PartyCome party in The Leah Arts District as they close out the Leah Summer Series presented by Mist Twst. They will be turning Unbranded Brewing Co.’s warehouse into a party before they begin construction on their space and open in 2017. Hosted By Lucy Lopez, music By Mr. Brown, DJ Aliyo, DJ Meta 4, DJ JimboSlice and DJ Cato K. Live street art by Hialeah’s Original 7up Crew plus local vendors. Dazed & ConfusedStep back 40 years into the decade of Led Zepplin, bell-bottoms, and loose joints on the last day of school in 1976. Richard Linklater’s breakthrough film is a staple summer flick that captures the timelessness of youth with a killer soundtrack and some of the most quotable lines in movie history. Taking cues from the characters themselves, the film has a charm that eases you into cool summer nights hanging out with a bunch of friends you never knew you had.

BBQ & Chill at The YardAvoid the craziness and jam to some of the best live tunes around, the smells and sounds of fresh grills filling the air, all at The Wynwood Yard thanks to Concrete Beach Brewing Co. Celebrate America’s birthday with live-looping and blues master, Zach Deputy, with and opening set by Robby Hunter of Magic City Hippies. Taste the specially create BBQ-themed menus of the culinary pop-ups.

Miami’s Most Imaginative BartenderThe USBG’s Most Imaginative Bartender Competition presented by BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Gin is where the cocktail-making world discovers its next great artist, a bartender whose creativity and passion pushes the industry forward. Witness as ten of the best bartenders in Miami and Tampa compete against each other, serving only their best and most inventive cocktail concoction, for the coveted title of Most Imaginative Bartender.

Introspection: Solo Show by Jenny PerezMiami’s Independent Thinkers host the opening weekend of “Introspection,” a solo exhib ition by Jenny Perez, at Gallery 2612. Perez will be showcasing new exploratory works on canvas as well as selected drawings. This exhibition is in collaboration with LEBO.

Contradance at The North Beach Bandshell – The Rhythm Foundation’s Dance Band Night expands this month with the Summer Folk Dance Intensive. Every Thursday evening in July features traditional American folk dances and tunes for all ages.

PAMM Free Second SaturdaysImmerse your family into nature and fantasy with art-making inspired by the work of artist Michele Oka Doner. Create mixed-media artwork that explores the natural world using a variety of unique materials. Stay and enjoy the whimsical strings of quartet Baby B Strings and their musical rendering of Brothers’ Grimm fairy tales.

Roosevelt Collier Plays The Grateful Dead – One of Miami’s most historic music venues welcomes the steel guitar master, Roosevelt Collier back to his hometown. Come watch the masterful musician play The Grateful Dead with a band of some of Miami’s finest featuring special guest Billy Luso.
