International Ballet Festival Miami

This three-week festival brings some of the world’s top ballet performers and companies to Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Under the direction of Pedro Pablo Pena, the festival features five spectacular performances at different venues with  programs by talented young winners of International ballet competitions, modern and contemporary dancers and two Grand Gala performances with renowned ballet companies from all over the world. 


Miami Home Design & Remodeling Show

The Miami Home Design & Remodeling Show gives attendees access to vendors, culinary demonstrations, instruction for DIY home improvement projects and more. Miami’s Home Show is a unique marketplace that enables homeowners to experience the products and services first hand, talk one-on-one with industry experts and get personalized advice to plan home improvement or design projects.

Key Biscayne Triathlon Trilogy
Sept. 9

The Trilogy International features a 1/2 mile swim, 20 mile bike, and 5.2 mile run and all finishers will get a limited edition Trilogy International Finisher medal and series points towards the international Trilogy series championship. All races begin at 7 a.m.


Miami World Music Festival

The 2012 MIami World Music Festival presents five concerts with music from Germany, Cuba, Spain, Russia and Argentina with an emphasis on chamber music written by the greatest composers of all time. There will also be folk music events using traditional world instruments.


Optic Nerve XIV Film Festival

The Museum of Contemporary Art’s annual short film festival showcases films submitted by emerging artists and filmmakers that have been selected as finalists. One of the films featured in the screening will be purchased for the Museum’s permanent collection.


Miami International Wine Fair

Anyone who is anyone in the U.S. wine scene will be at the Miami Beach Convention Center for the 10th annual Miami International Wine Fair. The expo attracts nearly 300 wineries from 16 countries, offering a daunting selection of around 1,200 different wines to sample. Luckily, one needn’t be a sommelier to enjoy this event as the Saturday Grand Tasting event is open to both industry professionals and regular old wine lovers, also a limited number of seminars will be open to the general public.


South Florida Dragon Boat Festival

The United Chinese Association of Florida hosts an Asian cultural festival that culminates in a dragon boat race, where teams with 17-25 members try to outpaddle each other to the beat of Chinese drums. Kids will enjoy games, face-painting, kites and dragon boat drawing contests and other fun activities in the Kids Dragon Playground. There will be an eggroll eating contest, entertainment and vendors selling Chinese wares and food.


Miami Rocks Our Troops

Grammy Award-winning singer Jon Secada hosts this benefit concert/celebration to raise awareness and funds for and to honor South Florida’s veterans. The lineup includes guitarist and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Billy Gibbons; multi-Grammy award winner Jose Feliciano; Backstreet Boy Nick Carter; American dance/club music sensation Erika Jayne; Miami Native American Idol contestant Sammy Arriaga; award winning country music artist Danielle Peck, and Latin sensation Ana Isabelle.
