MB gay history 101

Discover Miami Beach gay history with a walking tour.

The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC), The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and the Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) have joined forces to bring you a ninety-minute guided Gay & Lesbian Walking Tours of South Florida on the fourth Friday of each month at 6:00 pm. Tours depart from the NEW LGBT Visitor Center in Historic City Hall, 1130 Washington Avenue, Ste. 100, Miami Beach (at 12th Street) and end at TWIST, 1057 Washington Avenue, where a refreshing drink will await the participants.

The tour centers around the contributions of Gays and Lesbians to the history of Miami Beach and the preservation of its architectural gems, many of which you’ll visit during the tour. But it doesn’t stop there! We’ll also tell you how Gays and Lesbians are playing a continuing role in shaping the future of Miami Beach. AND we’ll introduce you to some of the HOT SPOTS of gay life in South Beach.

Reservations are not required. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased at the NEW LGBT Visitor Center or at MDPL’s Art Deco Welcome Center at Ocean Drive and 10th Street. MDPL and MDGLCC members may participate at no charge. Tour time is the 4th Friday of each month at 6:00 pm.
