Now here’s an event which is shear genius.
On Saturday, October 11th, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m., Locks of Love will be the featured charity at Sprout during the next Wynwood Artwalk. Snip Salon‘s scissor wielding wizards (pictured here) will create a pop-up hair salon and provide stylish haircuts to those who wish to donate to Locks of Love.
For those of you not-in-the-know, Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization which provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 17 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetic.
Also on hand? Sprout owner Bianca Ruggeri will craft flower headpieces for each donor at her ecclectic flower boutique, coffee shop and venue located in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District. They specialize in custom floral arrangements and plant design for home, office or special events.
Andrew McLachlan, owner of Snip Salon, is an avid supporter of Locks of Love and his team will transform any individual who wishes to donate their hair. “It’s a win win. Your hair goes to a great cause and you get a super sharp new look,” he said.
Revelers can also expect sips by St.-Germain during the feel-good event. And yes, the event is open to the public.
