With a average viewer age of 85, many of whom are still in a semi-coma from Ken Burn’s 100 hour-long National Parks series, PBS viewers get a wake-up call tonight with Latin Music USA, a sizzling four-part documentary series examining the impact of Latin music in America from Mario Bauza and the Fania All-Stars to Ricky Martin and reggaeton. Living rooms across the country will no doubt break out in dance and grandma will shatter a hip while attempting to shake her bon-bon (let’s take a moment to savor that sad-yet-not-inconsequential moment in popular music shall we? Click on the video above). The Herald’s Jordan Levin had a story about the doc series in Sunday’s paper, read it here.
