'Frida: Unmasked' explores the life of famed artist Frida Kahlo

Actor and playwright Deborah Sherman will perform her solo show Frida: Unmasked as part of the Overheard Series at Broward College’s South Campus. The play explores the pain-filled, extraordinary life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, touching on her Jewish identity, her bisexuality and her complicated relationship with her husband, artist Diego Rivera.

The performance takes place at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at the campus’ Performing Cultural Arts Theatre, 7200 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines. Admission is free for students with a valid ID, $10 for the general public. For information, call 954-201-8719 or email bsoca@broward.edu.
