Are you ready for hurricane season? Get prepared with weather and safety experts through exciting games and live shows, and even try your hand at being a real meteorologist on television at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science’s daylong festival. Meet Owlie from the NOAA’s Young Meteorologist Program, learn about weather science with Professor Tinkermeister, meet real Hurricane Hunters and listen to stories about flying through hurricanes. Build a house and see if it can stand up against Category 5 winds at FIU’s mini Wall of Wind (WOW) exhibit and then chat with the wind engineers behind WOW, and discover how the weather works through engaging, hands-on activities with Mike Mogil. The fun takes place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, 3280 South Miami Ave., Miami; free.
