What’s all that extra action on Lincoln Road? We know it’s always busy there, but during Super Bowl weekend, there will be plenty to see.
From Thursday, Feb. 4 through Sunday, Feb. 7 the Eats, Beats and Cleats festival wil provide plenty of fan-friendly
experiences with current and former NFL players such as autograph signings, dance and fashion showcases, live music and plenty of partying.
It all gets underway on Thursday, Feb. 4 with a Dancing FOR the NFL Stars competition, as contestants will dance and be judged by the athletes. Your judges for the evening: former Cowboys players Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith and former Heavyweight boxing champ Evander Holyfield. You can catch the action at the stage on Lincoln Rd. and Euclid Ave. beginning at 7 p.m.
After the dancing the focus shifts to a ticketed VIP players party at the Ritz Carlton South Beach on the east end of Lincoln Rd. Ticket prices range from $85 to $350, depending on whether you buy a one-day pass or weekend pass.
Friday, Feb. 5, includes the Gridiron Greats Night of Champions featuring entertainment from Jamie Foxx at the Fillmore Theatre (for ticket holders only) which starts at 6 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 6 includes the Fashion Rocks the Gridiron show featuring Kyle Turley and the Doug Flutie Band at the Air Tran Platform and stage on Lincoln Rd. and Euclid Ave. which starts at 7 p.m. (You read correctly – NFL players playing instruments).
Sunday, Feb. 7 is a massive tailgate party on Lincoln and Euclid starting at noon, complete with a Bacardi VIP area.
Among the notables in attendance during the four days will be Mike Ditka, Barry Sanders, Roger Staubach, Jim Kiick, Ickey Woods, Tony Dorsett, and Jim Marshall.
