Calling all figure-clinging wrap dress aficionados: Diane von Furstenberg will be visiting Books & Books at Bal Harbour Shops on Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. The legendary designer recently penned a memoir, The Woman I Wanted to Be, where she reflects on her childhood in Brussels to her days as a young, jet-set princess, to creating the dress that came to symbolize independence and power for an entire generation of women. She also touches on her career’s high and lows and heading the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Von Furstenberg’s personal appearance will be modified by entertainment journalist Ana Remos and is free and open-to-public.
On Dec. 3 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., von Furstenberg will be visiting her novel Aventura Mall boutique to toast her tome. Sips, bites and shopping will be in order as the designer signs copies of her book. Guests can RSVP by emailing email@example.com.
