Coconut Grove parks and outdoor activities

Coconut Grove makes it easy to be outside and to have fun. Here are our favorite spots, in no particular order:

1. Peacock Park

While its large playing fields are popular for kickball and softball, Peacock Park also has an outdoor playground with great open bay views. Every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m the park hosts a free yoga class for all levels. The park is named for Charles and Isabella Peacock who built Miami’s first hotel, the Bayview House (later called the Peacock Inn) in 1883. 2820 McFarlane Rd.; 305-575-5256

2. Royal Palm Tours of Miami

The first and third Saturday of the month gather at City Hall at 9:30 a.m. and enjoy a 2-1/2 hour guided bike tour. Explore historical landmarks, tropical vegetation and views of Biscayne Bay. Bring a bike or rent a Citi Bike (citibikemiami.com). 3500 Pan American Dr.; 786-346-3356; RoyalPalmtoursofmiami.com

3. Miami Water Sports

This is the one-stop destination for all things water. Rent kayaks, jet skis, SUPs and boats. Up for an adventure? Try parasailing. Rentals are on an hourly basis. Dinner Key Marina, Pier 9; 305-345-4104; Miamiwatersports.com

4. Kenneth M. Myers Bayside Park

Enjoy the best view while working out at this outdoor gym – perfect for circuit training. 2900 McFarlane Rd.

5. David Kennedy Park

The bay is ever present while running on this outdoor track. The park also has beach volleyball and a play area for four-legged friends. 2200 S. Bayshore Dr.; 305-575-5256
