City Theatre’s Shorts 4 Kids goes gaming-style at the Arsht Center

City Theatre’s annual Shorts 4 Kids program, this year called Time to Play!, begins its run on Wednesday and goes through June 28 in the Carnival Studio Theater at the Arsht Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House. Four short plays — Regina Flector Wins the Science Fair by Marco Ramirez, Heroes of the Hand by Jason Edelstein, February 14: A Mockumentary by Mary Sansone, and The Playground by Sansone and Mcley Lafrance — take audiences into a video game console where avatars and apps come to life. Elijah Word, Jovon Jacobs, Greyssan Felipe, Chelsea Wheatley, Andre Russell and Sansone are in the cast.

Regular performances are 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday for summer camps, 1 p.m. Saturday-Sunday for general audiences. Tickets are $20 (use the promo code DRAGON to get $15 tickets to the Saturday-Sunday public performances). The Arsht is at 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. Call 305-949-6722 or visit
