We love a good reason to drink recklessly in the middle of the week – gracias Cinco de Mayo! Kick back with some tacos and a margarita (or three) at these celebrations…

Chilorio’s (130 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables) celebrates by dishing out 2 for 1 Mexican beers and complimentary nachos with a purchase of $20 or more.

El Scorpion (433 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) celebrates with “Maracas and Margaritas” all night long. The night’s first 50 diners will sip a free Corona. Then from 4 – 7 p.m., everyone will enjoy a Mariachi band, $2 Coronas, $5 nachos, $7 quesadillas and 2-for-1 margaritas. From 7 p.m. to close, a DJ and $5 tequila shots take over, complemented by piñatas, maracas and an outdoor guacamole bar.

Espanola Way gets festive with its 10th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival. Beginning at 6pm head to the iconic street for Mariachi music, dancing, Mexican snacks and cocktails galore. 

Finnegan’s River gives
Cinco de Mayo an Irish twist with $3 tacos, margarita huts, $3.00 Presidente beer, $5.00 tequila shots bull riding and Mariachis.

The Grove greets revelers with its annual Fete du Cinco de Mayo festival. Held from 8 p.m. to midnight, the event pairs owners of Jaguar, Le Bouchon du Grove, Green Street & George’s and features live Mariachi, specialty drinks, appetizers and more.

JB Kitchen & Bar (1250 S. Miami Ave., Miami) serves up “Cinco de Sueno: Drinks, Dreams and Enlightenment.” Which means from 6 -10 p.m. 300-500 revelers can sip complimentary margarita & Jaslico punch bowl cocktails nibble on passed calamari & nachos and listen to DJ Nuno Da Viega. Lime celebrates with $3 Cornoas, drink specials, entertinment & giveaways between 11am-10pm. Extra bonus – keep the party going all month long with $3 Coronas through the end of May.

Mercadito (3252 NE First Ave., Miami) celebrates “the triumph of the battle of Puebla” with the launch of a signature “ridiculously hot and addictingly delicious” Vato Loco cocktail. Order one up and stake your claim to fame on the restaurant’s Facebook page. Not a tequila person? Put an Argentinean spin on Cinco de Mayo at Patagonia (4802 NW 7 St., Miami) and drink for free. Order a parradilla overflowing with “an array of meats” and get two free Quilmes beers. Call 305-640-8376 for  info & reservations.

Head north to Rocco’s Tacos (Boca & West Palm Beach locations) for “South Florida’s Sexiest Mexican Fiesta.” The block parties will feature mariachi bands, free tequila pourings and guest appearance by Rocco. The party runs from noon to 1 a.m.


Bring your sombrero to The Raleigh from 5-8pm and enjoy Mariachi band, $7 tequila shots and margaritas, $7 Mexican snacks and more. Call 305-534-6300 for info.

Rosa Mexicano (900 S Miami Ave., Miami) brings the party to Brickell with live music, a special menu, prizes and giveaways – all sponsored by Corona, Cazadores tequila and Corzo.

Cinco de Mayo skews Japanese as Sushi Maki celebrates with $5 sake cocktails, beers, bites and the debut of new menu items. From 5 – 9 p.m. dig into select rolls, salt & pepper calamari, Japanese lasagna, savory sushi tacos and rock shrimp tempura at Sushi Maki’s Brickell, Gables, South Miami and Palmetto Bay locations.

Talavera (2299 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables) celebrates with drink specials and a mariachi band from 5 – 8 p.m. Call 305-444-2955 for info & reservations.

Tequila Ranch at Seminole Paradise at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (5760 Seminole Way, Ft. Lauderdale) kicks off the festivities at 2 p.m. Look for $5 margaritas, $3 Dos Equis, free shot giveaways, a caliente pepper eating contest, a Mexican Millionaire contest, a bull riding contest ($1,000 cash prize) and live music.
