Charles LeDray at the Bass Museum

Tiny suits, miniature ceramic vessels in towering vitrines, hand-embroidered baseball caps, Charles LeDray’s work is a poetry of material, scale, and cultural resonance rich with history and emotion. This Friday, the Bass Museum of Art (2100 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) hosts the opening reception from 7-9 p.m. for an exhibition by the New York based artist, which will feature four of the sculptor’s major works. Curated by Adjunct Curator Steven Homes, the show includes LeDray’s celebrated piece “Mens Suits” (pictured), which the artist meticulously labored over for three years to create the tiny jackets, shirts and trousers. Regular museum hours are noon- 5 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday; admission is $8, $6 seniors & students, free for members, basspass members, Miami Beach residents and children under 6.
