3rd Annual Colors of the Caribbean

What do you get when you blend the diverse, authentic ingredients of the Caribbean? You get a Caribbean inspired day of food, arts and culture, entertainment and irie vibes. Colors of the Caribbean features: Junkanoo procession, Moko Jumbies (Stilt walkers), Steelpan music, and live performances by Wayne Wonder (Jamaica), Midnite (Virgin Islands), Kevin Lyttle (St Vincent), Harmoniq (Haiti), music by DJ Majestic (DC/Trinidad & Tobago), and more. Activities include: Caribbean Airlines Travel Expo, YMCA Kids Activity Zone powered by the Children’s Services Council of Broward County, Caribbean Food Village, Caribbean Arts and Craft Village, Cultural Performances, and the “Going Green” Zone. Caribbean: Crossroads of the World Exhibit

Highlighting over two centuries of rarely seen works — from paintings and sculptures to prints, photographs, installations, films, and videos — dating from the Haitian Revolution to the present, this exhibition advances our understanding of the Caribbean and its artistic heritage and contemporary practices.
