Don Cornelius may be funking it up in another orbit, but from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 down in the A+E District, starting on the CANVAS lot at 90 NE 17th St., the Miami Soul Train will chug along on the MetroRail (!) to a funky beat via Miami Dade public transit, which will be taking everyone to funkytown via headphones provided by Silent Revolution MIA and tunes by Myke Dilla, Element and Tillery James. Each of the aforementioned DJs will ride on a different Metro and only those wearing the wireless headphones will hear the tunes. At each stop on this hippest trip in Miami, there will be Buskerfest musicians doing their thing. At the end, it’s back at CANVAS for a Motown Getdown party featuring late night food and drink by Purple People Eatery and Apothecary Airstream. The event and the rides are free and open to the 21 and over public as long as you RSVP at AEDistrictMiami.Eventbrite.com.
