If bingo’s your thing, you may want to check out Drag Bingo at Gramps over in Wynwood. While this is certainly a lighter version of an epic drag show, there’s plenty of fun to be had here. The beautiful Miss Toto hosts every week, which takes place on Wednesdays starting at 9 p.m. Get BINGO! and win free drinks, gift certificates, vinyl records (it’s hipster city up in here), and more. If karaoke is more your jam, though, make it out to Double Stubble Thursdays, where the queens and kings take over the night—including a second appearance by Miss Toto, plus Hairy Bradshaw, Neon Miller, Kurt Fowl and more.
Some folks like to start their Sunday mornings at church. Others know the real fun can be found at Senor Frog’s Drag Brunch. Hosted by the one and only Elaine Lancaster, this show and brunch combo goes on for four hours and is not to be missed. $19.95 gets you in for the grub and entertainment, but $39.99 gets you unlimited mimosas as well. And with guests from RuPaul’s drag race occasionally making the scene, you know you gotta check it out.
If you like your drag shows with Latin flair, get yourself to Azucar. Thursdays, it’s Drag Wars, where Miami’s flourishing baby drag talent are invited to come and strut their stuff for a $200 prize. Friday nights are the Viernes de Glamour, a night when the stylish queens rules and the music is on point. Dance all night during their Sabados Lokos de Azucar (Saturdays) or sit back and allow Ms. “Los Globos” and company entertain the hell out of you on their Sunday Noches de Cabaret. Anything and everything goes at this top notch gay club in LittleHavana.
This spot is an institution on South Beach that believes that no one should have to wait for the weekend to enjoy a good drag show. Sometimes we just need a queen to lift our spirits up on a damn Tuesday, am I right?
Start your week right with Brunchic, with two seatings for this unforgettable drag brunch experience (11 a.m. and 2 p.m.). Check out Miami’s freshest drag talent during Mondays Are A Drag. Try Turn’t Up Tuesdays or Thirsty Thursdays for some drag and dancing, or pop by for Friday night Drag Madness with T.P. Lords.
Your entire calendar will be booked if you just check out their events page. Take note, however, that The Palace is not long for its Ocean Drive venue, as reported recently, they are looking for a new location because the new owners are currently doing major renovations to the building that will put a serious snag in their fishnets. But for now, the daily drag fiesta continues.
Locals know that Twist is one of Miami’s best gay clubs. There are seven (count ‘em) bars inside and never a cover, so of course, folks flock. Fortunately, there are several nights a week when the queens also come to play and entertain. Monday nights are dedicated to all things RuPaul’s Drag Race, so lots of fun to be had there. Come on Wednesdays for Fresh with TP Lords (and Josefina “Los Globos” of Azucar putting on a show in the late evenings. Or check out Sazon Latino on Thursdays with Aquiles (plus 2-for-1 drinks). There’s something going on nearly all week long here, so get to it.
If you’re willing to make the drive up to Rumors in Wilton Manors (South Florida’s other perfectly queer gayborhood), you’ll want to check out Drink-N-Drag. Self-professed bad bitches Sasha Lords, Calypso Monroe, Twat LaRouge, Mhi’ya LePaige, and Nicole Halliwell all put on quite the show (and the drink specials don’t hurt, either). You can also drop by on Friday nights for the Daisy Deadpetals show, which is currently airing Season 9 of, you guessed it—RuPaul’s Drag Race (it is the best, after all).
