Ball & Chain debuts live jazz broadcast on WDNA

Radio shows are as retro as they come – especially those playing live music of another era!

But starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, Ball & Chain, 1513 SW 8th St., kicks off Jazz: Live at The Ball & Chain, a live radio show broadcast from the Little Havana hot spot on WDNA (88.9 FM).

“Our goal is to showcase the jazz that has been rich in tradition, paying homage to the original opening in 1935. We are excited to partner with WDNA to showcase the best South Florida jazz live from our venue making it available to listeners worldwide,” says co-owner Zack Bush.

Kicking off the series is saxophonist Mark Small who will be accompanied by esteemed Miami jazz artists Nick Tannura, Cisco Dimas, Derek Fairholm, Eric England and Aaron Glueckauf. The show goes until 10 p.m. at the bar and live broadcasts will occur every last Thursday of the month and air from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on 88.9 FM.

There is no cover charge, no minimum, no nothing other than awesome tunesmithery.
