Accessible Art: The Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show announces ambassador artists and Art Basel launches revamped website

Studio Crawl

ArtCenter/SouthFlorida is moving its “Studio Crawl” event to the first Wednesday of the month. The next is scheduled for Aug. 5 from 7 – 10 p.m. and will feature 19 open artist studios and resident artist John Henry Dale aka “Dale Dale” playing a DJ/percussion set of Latin electronic and tropical bass music. Debut Show

The Anne Kolb Nature Center presents a solo show by artist Leonafire by Alejandra Suarez titled, “Sight Revealed.” She was born with a hereditary sight condition that left her legally blind yet her work is filled with vibrancy and clarity. A special reception honoring the artist’s first exhibition is Saturday, Aug. 8 from 5 – 7 p.m. at 751 Sheridan St., Hollywood. At Home with Art

The Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show announced a list of ambassador artists for “At Home with Art,” a new feature showcasing more than 20 emerging and mid-career artists during the show at the Miami Beach Convention Center (Sept. 4-8). Participating artists were selected based on their respective skills and support of Miami’s artistic community through education or service projects. Viernes Culturales presents four artists from the Little Havana Art District: Astrid Alcayaga, Ninoska Perez Castellon, Madelin Perez Noa, and Fredy Villamil. Don Rimx, Abstrk, Luis Valle, and Atomik will be painting solo and collaboratively on a canvas that will be donated to ASPIRA ARTS DECO, a new charter school in Wynwood dedicated to arts and design. Additional artists include: Tatiana Blanco, Emil Bodourov, Armando Colls, Gianna DiBartolomeo, Marta Echazarreta, Nereida Garcia Ferraz, Leah Guzman, Tamara Hervera, Lorie Ofir, Krisse Pasternack, Cecilia Paz, and Jose Pita Vazquez. Opening at BaCA

Bailey Contemporary Arts, an art complex in Pompano Beach, unveils three exhibits focusing on abstract painting, Florida nostalgia, and graffiti in its new gallery starting Monday, Aug. 3. “Decipher” by Henning Haupt, “Nos.tal.gia“ by Bonnie Shapiro, and Ubiera Pop” by Ruben Ubiera will be on view through Aug. 28.
